There is a very valid question from a student, that how we can get a job without any reference or experience. Unfortunately, due to a high rate of unemployment, salary package is getting down instead of increment toward employee. A fresh graduate in aviation, definitely looking for a high paid salary job,   once I asked this question from students during the class that how much are your expectations about salaries after completing your studies. The answers were started from 1 lac plus and so on.

Some of the students replied that we were not willing to do this, but parents compel us to join aviation. Many of them answered that this is a very glamorous job and our expectations are high.

Would like to give you some advice which may help.

BE CONFIDENT:

Suppose you have completed your studies and looking for a job. First of all, you have to believe in your capabilities. This is the time which will decide your future. Your strength, your hard working, your patience, all will be tested.

MOTIVATION:

You have to have a motivator in life. You must have someone who impresses and you want to hear something from that personality.  Follow him, he either be a Politician, a sportsman, a scholar, a scientist, any person which impress you with deeds and success in life. Read his life, up’s and downs and you will get one answer throughout the success and that is  “Continuous struggle”.

There is a difference between genius and a normal person, Genius continues working despite several failures and normal person leave it in between.

You must be aware a star named “SILVER STALLONE”  RAMBO. Did you know about his story?  I tell you little, that he sell out his loving dog for his ambition just to be a hero in the movie. He had a very impressive story of his success.  Therefore, one thing you have to be ready that your lifestyle will be changed or you had to sacrifice for some of your beautiful things. It depends how much you are involved to get your passion or achieve your target.

1-      Update yourself:

Here you have decided that you have to choose aviation. The first thing you can do easily to get awareness about your field.  News about aircraft, Industries, air shows, No 1 airline, why it is  No 1, an airline of your country etc.  It will cost nothing, just search it through any search engine and you will get the detail. It will show your passion for aviation, how keen you are to update yourself.

2-      Contacts :

These days, there is no need to go and meet any person face to face. Social media is there and you can easily access to anyone. Keeping the first impression is the last impression, you have to be very careful in the selection of words whenever you talk first time to an organization representative. Your writing skills will play a vital role which reflects your thinking and intentions.  When you impress and succeed to show your willingness, positivity toward aviation, then consider that you are able to climb the first step toward success. Initially, you have to tell about yourself, your qualities and future ambitions

      Show your willingness:

Now you are updated with aviation through news and with the introduction with few contacts with the people in the industry. Keep follow up with the jobs in the industry. There are so many jobs available all the time, yes “all the time” in an airline and ground handling companies and looking for the right person at the right place but due to the heavy unemployment rate, they did not advertise the job as required candidates are always available. Therefore just emphasize that area.

Suggestion:  Most of the people without introduction, placed their requirement (job) in front of airline representative or handling agency. It would be a good impression if you tell about your needs and requirements after some time. Everyone is seeking for the job of course so if you do the same, then how you would be a different personality to remember. 

  Follow up:

Follow up does not mean “botheration”, however asking about job so many times to a person would not help you in fact and you might face reluctance on the other side.

Use of social media is the best for conversation.

Inside story:

There is a concept in Pakistan that if you do not have contact or reference in an organization, it is impossible to get the required job. I will not disagree, but also not agreed 100%. Commercial organizations always go for the professionals and the “Safarshi” referred people are very limited. Good organization needs to spend on the employee and get positive output. But a right person for the right job is also a challenge for the organizations. So if you are the right candidate, later or sooner, you will get your required place. Have patience

   Job offer:

The aviation industry is a big ocean of different kinds of jobs.

Sometimes, a job offer is quite different from the qualification.  Also not a good salary package and not according to the expectations, therefore point blank refused from the candidates.

It depends on the candidate how much he is willing for a job as some of them desperately to support their home. In my experience I have seen so many people who start working other then they are qualified for, but later they change their designation and ultimately reach at their place.
